NEWS: RoATP pause on 15 April allow everyone time for a refresh and a rethink

The Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers will pause on 15 April because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

That means it will close to new bids, including second applications from providers that have already applied once and been unsuccessful in the last 12 months.

We have done a lot of work with companies regarding the RoATP over the past 12 months at SCLO and that work will continue when the scheme is re-activated.

The pause will allow a refreshing of the system and a look at those who have been on it for over a year. It will give the ESFA time to see what could be done better and time to think about exactly how they are going to do their annual refresh for those who applied throughout 2019 and renew their approach to the register.

Implementing the scheme has not been without its problems and the enforced pause will hopefully allow some of those issues to be ironed out.

In their update about the pause, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) said they would ‘advise further on when and in what form the Register will re-open’, therefore now will be a good time to prepare for when the RoATP re-opens and refreshes are required.
