I have been asked to speak at the Sussex Council of Training Providers (SCTP) conference next month.

The SCTP are a community of training providers that offer apprenticeships, work-based learning and pre-employment training in Sussex. They have vital sector information, broker access to key stakeholders, and offer information and support to those who need it.

It’s an online conference and I’m really looking forward to it. Not just because of the opportunity to discuss the sector with a group of like-minded people but for two other reasons as well.

Conference

Firstly, the SCTP are one of those organisations that have been so important to the growth of SCLO.

I first presented to their members at one of their face-to-face conferences soon after setting up the business in 2018.

Since then, we have developed a superb working relationship and that type of long-term partnership is crucial for SMEs like SCLO.

They are good people who are very switched on in their local area and have, unsurprisingly, a fantastic set of members in the south of the country.

Devolution

Secondly, I’ll be discussing what should be a really interesting 6 to 12 months ahead, especially in their part of the country.

They have devolution starting in their area next year and I’ll be explaining some of the valuable lessons that have been learned from devolution in other areas. Both positives and negatives that I have witnessed first hand.

Discussing the potential benefits and challenges of devolution will hopefully enable their members to be on top of the market when the time is right and help shape their direction of travel for further opportunities in the years to come.

If you are attending, I look forward to seeing you there.
